Childcare Strategy Team Services Information...

What do we do?

  • We support and facilitate the securing of sufficient Early Years and Childcare provision for parents and carers of children and young people 0-14 years, or up to 18 for disabled young people.

  • We manage the childcare market, considering the demand for specific types of providers in a particular locality and the demand and supply that currently exists to support economic prosperity and opportunities for employment.

  • We provide advice, guidance, support and challenge to all Early Years and Childcare providers, in particular the mandatory & legal requirements of Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage.

  • Offer providers support and guidance with upcoming Ofsted Inspections.

  • Time for Two’s, 30 hours, Early Education Funding and Early Years Pupil Premium validation and payment is provided by our Early Education Funding.

Additional Support

Childcare Plus Scheme

The team supports placements in childcare for children who are on a Child Protection Plan or are a Child in Need which helps to support families who are in need of an emergency childcare place. If funding is available our development Officers will identify suitable childcare from our Out-standing providers to ensure that families and children are given the care and support they need.

Care to Learn Scheme

The team also supports young parents who wish to return to education and need to find a suitable childcare case. We will identify a suit-able childcare provider and work alongside them, the family and professionals to ensure that the care meets the child and families needs.
