Events & Training

Welcome to the Centre for Professional Practice Training Programme. The programme runs from February 2018 to February 2019 and has been tailored to meet the needs of the service as well as supporting our staff in their own professional development and wellbeing.

We aim to be a “one stop shop” for Children’s Services where you will be able to access a range of training opportunities available internally from the CPP team; the Safeguarding Board and Research in Practice.

​

Each service area has differing training needs and this is promoted within the programme by identifying a target audience for each training course.

​

If you would like to attend a course and are not listed as the target audience please contact the CPP team inbox to discuss this in more detail.

Our training programme is set up into provide a variety of learning techniques, from full day training to half day workshops. You will also be able to access a range of online training courses to do in your own time. Using differing styles of learning you will also be able to attend Peer Supervision Groups on set topic areas to explore practice in a reflective journey.

 

 

Team Training

Team training sessions are also on offer which cover a range of day-to-day basic practice issues that can be tailored to the need and approach of the individual teams.

Ward House, Himley: Training Venue

The majority of the out of office training is located at Ward House, Himley. When attending any training please be aware that parking permits being needed and that lunch is not (and no food-warming facilities). Tea/coffee shall be provided in training sessions and there is a Cafe based on the Himley grounds for those requiring to purchase food.

Learning or access needs

When booking the training courses you are asked to inform us of any learning needs or access requirements you may have that we can support you with. Please ensure that you notify of any issues at the time of booking to ensure that your needs are met.
