Events & Training
Welcome to the Centre for Professional Practice Training Programme. The programme has been tailored to meet the needs of the service as well as supporting our staff in their own professional development and wellbeing.
We aim to be a “one stop shop” for Children’s Services where you will be able to access a range of training opportunities available internally from the CPP team; the Safeguarding Board and Research in Practice.
Each service area has differing training needs and this is promoted within the programme by identifying a target audience for each training course.
Online Training Brochure
Our online training brochure provides a comprehensive list of all of our available courses up until March 2021 - you can also book your place using the online links within it.
Internal staff may use this guide to help them with booking on.
For those of you who are interested in attending attending any of our training courses and do not work internally in Dudley Children's Services; you are still able to attend any of the courses available. Our training aims to be a Multi-Agency approach to key topics of practice in working with Children and Families.
If you would like to attend a course and are not listed as the target audience please contact the CPP team inbox to discuss this in more detail.
Problem Solving Circle
As part of our training programme you will also be able to access our Problem Solving Circles to explore practice and set topics. This can include gaining solutions from our multi-agency partners in relation to complex problems you may experience when working for children and families.
All staff should have the opportunity to attend training to support their personal and professional development, and to strengthen quality of service and practice. Whilst staff attend training and attendance can be good, there are also a number of cancellations. This leads to training being cancelled, and at times, charges being made to the Local Authority.
If a member of staff wishes to cancel training, they will need to complete this Training Cancellation Form with approval from the relevant Service Manager. This will then need to be sent to CPP via email@example.com.
CPP will be recording the reasons for cancellations to inform an understanding behind non-attendance at training. Feed back will be given to the leadership team on a quarterly basis, as part of CPP’s audit report.

We have put together a selection of online courses from other providers that you may find useful in your practice.
The training programme will be continuously updated and more courses and training opportunities will be added throughout the year! Subscribe to receive updates at the bottom of this page.
Learning or access needs
When booking the training courses you are asked to inform us of any learning needs or access requirements you may have that we can support you with. Please ensure that you notify of any issues at the time of booking to ensure that your needs are met.
For any special learning requirements we will need at least 1 weeks notice prior to the training.
